29th anniversary of the UDM – letter from Professor Dr. Vidal Peláez
"I want to send a message of pride, admiration, and gratitude to all the professionals who are part of the Women's Unit."
Today, the Women's Unit at Ruber International Hospital celebrates its 29th anniversary, having begun operations on April 1, 1991.
From day one, I have led this Unit, created to care for women with any gynecological problems they may encounter, from the day they are born until the last day of their lives.
I am proud of the success and prestige we have achieved over all these years. This success is not due to me, but to the magnificent team of collaborators the Unit has had and currently has.
We have endured difficult times, such as the sale of the Hospital, which transformed from a Bergaz family business into an international company that controls more than 50 hospitals in Spain alone. Fortunately, the integration into the new group occurred very quickly, and the Hospital continued its traditional approach; for which we can never thank Dr. Víctor Madera, the new owners' chief executive officer, enough.
But the most difficult moment is now with the Coronavirus crisis.
Therefore, I want to send a message of pride, admiration, and gratitude to all the professionals who are part of the Women's Unit: doctors, psychologists, nurses, physical therapists, nutritionists, public relations professionals, secretaries, and clinical assistants.
Everyone has worked hard to collaborate with the on-call doctors, intensive care specialists, internists, and other specialists at the Hospital to fight this terrible pandemic, which I'm sure we will all defeat together.
And I also want to thank the Managing Directors and Medical Directors that the Hospital has had over the years, because they have always supported us. And those who lead it now, Doctors Conde and Cuesta, who are dedicated body and soul to organizing the difficult fight against the cursed Coronavirus. A fight in which the entire staff of the Ruber International Hospital is participating, and I also offer my heartfelt congratulations.
Therefore I conclude by saying:
Long live women's unity!
Long live Ruber International!
