Awards that recognize the more human side of healthcare

The Latido Awards were created to recognize the work of healthcare professionals, scientific societies, organizations, patient associations, and companies that contribute to improving the health and well-being of the population. Organized by Medicina Responsable (Responsible Medicine), these awards highlight initiatives that promote clinical excellence, research, innovation, scientific dissemination, digital transformation, and the humanization of healthcare.

Over its four editions, the Latido Awards have become a benchmark within the Spanish healthcare ecosystem, recognizing projects that generate a real impact on patients' lives and foster a more humane and compassionate approach to medicine. According to the organization, these awards not only celebrate professional achievements, but also values, stories of overcoming adversity, and initiatives capable of transforming the healthcare system.

A gala marked by excellence and innovation

The 2026 edition recognized some of the most outstanding projects in the national healthcare sector. Among the award winners were the Spanish Myeloma Group, the campaign launched by Leo Pharma to raise awareness of the reality of people with epidermolysis bullosa—known as butterfly skin—as well as innovative initiatives such as Mamás en Acción (Moms in Action), CardiologIA Madrid 365, Oxiconecta, and the "Aquí hay un farmacia" (There's a Pharmacist Here) program, all examples of the impact that collaboration, technology, and humanization can have on healthcare.

During the ceremony, Dr. Juan Vidal also played a prominent role in presenting the 2026 Latido Award for Healthcare Professional of the Year to the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery team at the 12 de Octubre University Hospital. The award recognized their contribution to improving the health and quality of life of thousands of children and their families.
