IUD
Intrauterine device, copper and hormonal, its high effectiveness (99%), low cost and minimal contraindications make it the most widely used reversible contraceptive method in the world.
BUT
Hormonal contraceptives, whose main action is anovulation, thus preventing pregnancy. They are administered orally (pill), transdermally (patch), transvaginally (ring), and subcutaneously (implant). Their high efficacy (99%), perfect cycle control, and secondary benefits such as reduced menstrual pain, bleeding, excess hair, and acne make them a preferred option, always administered under the supervision of a specialist.
LBT
Bilateral tubal ligation is an irreversible method and the most effective (99,9%). It is indicated for women who have already fulfilled their desire to conceive. It is performed through a simple procedure (laparoscopy) that requires a minimal hospital stay and a rapid recovery.
Methods such as condoms, withdrawal, diaphragms, or partner vasectomy are also worth considering depending on the patient's profile, although they have lower effectiveness rates than the previous ones (except for vasectomy, which reaches 99,9%).
